This is so true! But to me being a momma is sooo much more. A momma is to comfort, correct, teach right from wrong, be a role model and most of all, bring children up to know the Lord. Give them a strong Christian foundation that will carry them the remainder of their lives. I am by no means a perfect parent, but I am so very thankful and blessed to know that both of my children know that Jesus died for their sins and died for their salvation! Both were baptized as young teens. That is the most important comfort for a momma to know: that her children will be with her now and forever! Amen!
As with all the holiday's, birthdays, and events the first ones without your love one is the hardest. Do they ever get easier? Do they get better? I don't know but the love in my heart still grows and grows knowing that together we will be together again. That is very important to me. As the time nears my sister wanted to know what our plans were for this holiday. I think I would like for it to be my family, her family, and daddy. We can meet at daddy's house and have a good lunch and love on each other, laugh and share time. That is what I want to happen. Simple, easy and lots of love. I am a proud mother to my two sons, my sister, Angie, is a proud mother to an awesome son and beautiful daughter. So we do not want to take away from our children spending Mother's Day and the celebration of it for them. It has almost been the first anniversary date of her going home to the Lord. I don't know what we will do then. I know that only God has brought me to a place that I am actually getting up each day and can smile. For 10 months I could not do anything but sleep, get up for the few hours the family came in from work and went right back to bed. If I was asleep, I didn't have to hurt, cry and hurt and think. Only God's grace opened up my soul to be well. Thank you my sweet Heavenly Father! You are my rock.
I was getting low on my home-made laundry soap so I made a batch up today. I only have to make 2 times a year! It is so easy (except for grating the Fels-Naptha bars!) I use the following ingredients: 4 lb box of Borax, 4 lb box of Super Washing Soda, 1 tub of Kroger brand OxyClean, 3 bars of Fels-Naptha bars, 1 large container of Downy UnStoppables (pink). I have a
3 gal bucket that I pour everything into and stir really good to mix together. The scoop that comes in the OxyClean is the one I use for measuring into wash. I use one scoop per load except on towels and I use two. Why? I don't know just seems like the right dose for towels. My clothes are clean and smell great! I don't use fabric softener, but I do use fabric sheets in the dryer. I do not have any residue in the washer and really do like the way my clothes come clean. I have 4 person laundry loads so we do a lot of laundry and the 1 batch last 6 months. Very economical!
Tina's thought of the day for you: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:12-13 (NIV)
Acts 20:35New International Version (NIV)
35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
Today I feel very blessed to have been able to volunteer at the Hope Center. The Hope Center is an organization that ministers and helps women who are pregnant and families with babies in need of diapers, clothes, food and other necessities. In driving down to the center, I prayed with God to use me in any way that was pleasing to Him and use all our work to glorify Him. Ten women gathered together for 2 hours and worked as a team sorting clothes for babies and toddlers for the center. We laughed, shared, sang and worked together as a team. It made my heart feel good that I could give of my time and love for others. So I encourage others, it you have a smidgen of time, find something you are passionate about and give to others. It is such a blessing for others and YOU!!
This weekend will be Decoration Day for my husbands father and brother's cemetery and Homecoming for New Georgia Baptist church for us to care for my mother, Papa and Nanny's spots. So some may ask what does that mean? Well yearly, usually spring, you will have a time designated to clean up your families cemetery plots for the Sunday's service dedicated as Homecoming. It is a really good thing, The families will come in and clean up the years weather damage, growing weeds, flowers needing replacing, and general sprucing up. To me it is a good time to take care of those that have always taken care of you. While my belief is my family is not there, they are in a much better place, I still honor them by taking care of these things. This year I changed my mother's flowers for every holiday occasion. My personal choice. But if your cemetery does not have one designated clean up day, please take a little time to clean and spruce it up. I do know they are cemeteries that have perpetual care and they take care of things but it wouldn't hurt to just check up and make sure it looks nice.
Until a few days ago I had never even heard of the word Geocache. Wikipedia describes as an outdoor recreational activity, in which the participants use a Global Positioning System(GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", anywhere in the world.A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook where the geocacher enters the date they found it and signs it with their established code name. After signing the log, the cache must be placed back exactly where the person found it. Larger containers such as plastic storage containers (Tupperware or similar) or ammunition boxes can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little financial value, although sometimes they are sentimental.
Several of my friends have began doing this with their kids. Today was my sisters first day with my niece. Hoping they had lots of fun and made memories! After all spending time with your children every and any minute is a great thing!!
Total Pollen Count for 4/25/2014:982
Today's pollen count is not as high today as yesterday here in Georgia, but you sure can't tell my itchy eyes, throat and nose! Normally pollen has never bothered me. I can't even walk out side to car without my eyes killing me and I begin to sneeze! Believe me that is not good for an older chickie. I know you girls know what I mean! I read somewhere that rain washes the pollen from the air is a myth. So now I feel doomed! So all you allergy folks out there, I am feeling your tears, I mean pain. I sit here typing with one eye watering and one eye that can't see. Here is AaaaChoooo!!!!
Have you ever been around someone that never has anything good to say about anything? It is really a sad thing that a person is so unhappy with their life that they cannot find anything good to say. I do know persons like this. I have family members like this. I pray for their hearts to soften and they find peace in God. I pray they look to God to guide them through the tuff times and give Glory to Him daily. If these types of people knew that their complaints and lack of appreciation only causes no one to want to be around them. God gives everyone so much each day to be grateful and praising. So if you have a tendency to complain, learn to begin each day and end each day with thanksgiving unto the Lord. The rest in your soul will follow!
It is a beautiful day outside here in Georgia! I am still smiling from spending the day with family and friends on such a special holiday! Sadly my fibromyalgia has stopped my body in its tracks. I was diagnosed when my oldest son was 7yrs old and my youngest son was 5yrs old. Fibromyalgia is characterized by chronic widespread pain and allodynia (a heightened and painful response to pressure). It is classed as a disorder of pain processing due to abnormalities in how pain signals are processed in the central nervous system. The defining symptoms of fibromyalgia are chronic widespread pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, prolonged muscle spasms, weakness in the limbs, nerve pain, muscle twitching, palpitations, and functional bowel disturbances, experience cognitive dysfunction, headaches, myoclonic twitches, and symptomatic hypoglycemia. So just these things listed here can make for a terrible day. You cannot predict what you will feel morning to morning. You may have one or multiple of these symptoms! The cause of fibromyalgia is unknown and treatment of this complex is very hard to treat. Mainly most people with Fibromyalgia just have to live with it. The hardest part of this chronic illness is that you look perfect on the outside. Other family and friends cannot see symptoms of what you feel.
So today I am going to rest up and hope for the best tomorrow. But I will sit and give thanks to the Lord for all my blessings and wonderful memories from Easter.
